I’m up early, and I’m about to head out on a cross-country venture to the great state of Alabama. Tomorrow, one of my old troops is going to join the DARKS SIDE—he’s becoming an occifer. From a superb technical sergeant to a butter bar! Is that a promotion or a punishment?

Anyway, I didn’t want to leave you hanging because I know some of you have a CGV addiction. (There are places to help you with that. But you have to admit you have a problem first).

Also, some big news: I’m starting my own podcast with my BFF-4-eva, the lovely and talented Kate Kovarovic. (The crowd erupts in applause!) Kate is one of my person heroes. She curses like a sailor, doesn’t take any sh*t, but has a heart of gold.

We are hoping to get started in the next few weeks. The aim of the podcast is to bridge the civilian-military (CIV-MIL, boom, acronym!) gap by telling stories from the war on terrorism (or GWOT, bruh). We will talk about PTSD, Moral Injury, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, etc. But we will not just speak to the American military (boring!). We will bring on civilians, family members, allies, etc. We’re very excited - and nervous! - to get this show on the road.
