I came to live in the Nation when Wilma Mankiller was Principal Chief. Perhaps what the Americans call 'transitioning' is what we used to think of as the process by which those who had taken life regained the White Path. My recollection is that this process applied equally to warriors and hunters (of any sex) although I know of no one who remembers the process itself anymore since the Christians took over and they do not practice it anymore. Since our traditional ways have no power in the American language and almost no one still speaks ᏣᎳᎩ they will pass away as our speakers die off.

As for the VA, my Uncle Homer always told my father that they were not worth going to even after my father was given veteran status for his service in WW II by President Reagan. Looks like nothing has really changed in the last 50 years or so. America has never been a reliable ally, even with its own people. Good luck, if my family's experience means anything, you are on your own.

Will, here's the problem with your avatar, the AI generated GCV. You are pretty and he is not. Truth in advertising, bro!!!

Indeed you are not crazy, this is all part of healing loudly. You served honorably, went on to help hundreds of Afghan families and still are helping them be successful. Your other job is to take care of yourself and push forward with the great goals you have set for yourself and your companies. Your life has much more meaning than 99.9% of the civilian population as you are not just about accumulating the trappings. Our job as civilians continues to be to live lives worthy of your and all veterans' sacrifices and to provide support to those of you who sacrificed.

Listen to your mother for G*d sake! If you don't, she and I will hold your feet to the fire in the great hereafter. You have been warned.

Bless you for forming the Afghan American Veterans Alliance. Will it serve as a central resource, too? My brother works with an Afghan family who were brought to NJ; I think it was an initiative of a church in Morristown. It could be helpful to identify the individual programs around the country and create a data bank. More hands, as it were.
