I have written much about my father, but this one is special. My intelligent and creative father, a famous Afghan pilot, helped me create this blog. Just google Afghan Pilot Abdul Rahman Rahmani, and you will know what I am talking about! I am so proud of him! I want to write about him not only because I love him but also because something big happened recently—we all got our green cards! Now, he’s been talking about joining the military here in the U.S.
He says the military will not only provide him with a better job but also give us a chance to live in better housing, study in better schools, and lead us to a better future. But honestly, I don’t care about those things as much as I care about him. What I want is for him to be happy.
Dad, if you’re reading this, I want you to ask yourself: Will joining the military make you happy? Because your happiness means so much to me, just like you always care about ours. I think it will make you happy, and I hope I’m right. But I’ll miss you so much during those training weeks that you say you will be away from us—even more than I’ll miss my teachers and classmates when we move from Arlington to where the military would want us to move!
I love you so much, Dad. You inspire me every day.
To everyone reading this, thank you for your amazing comments and support! If you have a dream, keep dreaming, and if you don’t have one yet, start dreaming about something that makes you happy—it feels so good. I’m sorry I haven’t been posting as much lately. I appreciate you all so much.
Have a great rest of your day or night!
Love, Aqsa ❤️
Aqsa...please don't ever apologize to us for not being able to write as much as you want. We trust you had good reason.
The strength, courage and love in your family inspires me. I wish all of you the best!
