More Thoughts on SECDEF Pete

I’m currently somewhere in Europe. I wrote this little article while in America before my vacation.
I want to expound a little more about SECDEF Pete. There’s Mayor Pete and now SECDEF Pete. Let’s run with it.

, or other great substacks, like . We have a heterodox group of readers.I’m personally a former Never Trumper. I say former because, in my opinion, the Never Trump conservative movement is dead. It was vanquished. It’s ok to admit defeat. It happens. Believe me, I know.
Nevertheless, I hate President Joe Biden. I admit it. And please do me a favor, I don’t need a Afghan history lesson. I was in Afghanistan when it fell. I spent 3+ years in Afghanistan, fighting at the village, district, provincial, and national levels. I also deployed to Iraq for a year. I speak Pashto, Dari, Farsi, Spanish, and Arabic. I’m a Level III SME for the Department of Defense in South Asia. I’ve read over 100+ books on Afghanistan and have been published in academic journals that nobody reads.
President Joe Biden has the blood of my Afghan brothers and sisters on his hands. You may disagree with that statement, but I believe it.
Regardless, I voted for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, primarily because of January 6th and because President Trump disparaged Senator John McCain. That’s just me. Your mileage may vary.
So, in the future, I will call them like I see them. I’m not going to follow the news like I did last year. I’m far too busy for that now, and, to be honest, it’s horrible for your mental health. So, I probably don’t know the latest and greatest gossip on SECDEF Pete.
Honestly, I don’t care anymore. Why? Because the American people voted affirmatively for this. So, I’m going to pray for his success. I pray he will perform more effectively since my brothers and sisters are in arms are in his hands.
So far, to be very honest, I wish SECDEF Pete had used some less heated rhetoric, but I like the policy positions he’s enacted — by and large, and there are some exceptions. We can review some of his controversial decisions when I return from my fantastic vacation. Nevertheless, my only hope for SECDEF Pete is this: that he kills Talibs again.

I wish I had your confidence in Pete Hegseth. But his background worries me greatly. Especially his history of substance abuse and sexual assault. How can he be a real leader with those issues?!
