I find it really interesting that Iran says that they are going to target civilians now. Were not the 12 Druze children civilians? Isn't the cities in the north of Israel, civilian? Some of those major cities are decimated by half. The only reason more Israeli civilians are not dead is because Israel evacuated the northern towns. Does it mean that they are now going to target the Galilee? They have already targeted the galilee panhandle. Maybe they are threatening Tel Aviv?

If any amount of civilians are killed, the war in Lebanon will start. That is why thousands are leaving the country and have been for month.

It is so awful that the world allowed the Mullahs to become this powerful that they can endanger entire nations without risking themselves. Maybe it's time to cut off the head of the snake.

In my opinion until and unless there are a majority of secular governments in place in the region we will be treated to various versions of the entertainments the Israelis and Iranians will continue to engage in. After the Israeli response to the Iranian response to the Israeli action, well, wash, rinse, and repeat. There are no governments in the region capable of enforcing an end to hostilities, at least none have come forward to do so. My point is that truly secular governments would not have a dog in a religious fight and might be able to treat all combatants fairly - there are no guarantees, however.

See Christian nationalists in the United States, for instance who are ready to stoke the fires in the Promised Land for the greater glory of Jesus. The difference is that in the United States the Christian nationalists are a small minority (although growing) of the population and the Constitution guarantees a completely secular government, pending the outcome of the November election, of course.

I just to clarify: Israel is a Secular Democracy. There are many religious Israelis ( though far from a majority) however the government is secular

You are correct, my point was that there is no combination of governments (of whatever form) in the region capable of negotiating a temporary ceasefire let alone a cessation of hostilities. Otherwise, why has this not been accomplished? Surely all the people in the region deserve better.
