An Afghan Air Force Pilot's Heroic Story

A conversation with Colonel Khial Shinwaray
5

For our inaugural episode, I chatted with my brother, Colonel Khial Shinwaray. Colonel Shinwaray was not only one of the Afghan Air Force’s (AAF) elite pilots but also ran their training and doctrine office. A graduate of the United States Air Force’s Air War College, Colonel Shinwaray flew combat sorties with American pilots for nearly a decade.

Listen to one of America’s heroes tell his unbelievable story.
