Hello, Princess General! I hope you’re excited about the end of school and are dreaming about having fun this Summer! And, as always, Daddy loves you.
This week, Daddy and Momo said goodbye to your first pup, Bucky Boy, the greatest dog in the history of the universe!
On Monday, Momo and Daddy went to an animal hospital, and Bucky Boy, who protected you for years, passed away. It made Daddy very sad to say goodbye to Daddy’s best friend over the last 10 years.
But that’s okay because I have a secret I have to tell you, Princess General, that Daddy learned from reading the Torah, Bible, Quran, and other important books: ALL. DOGS. GO. TO. HEAVEN.
It’s true. Dogs are not only man’s best friends; in Daddy’s opinion, they’re all the proof you need that G*d loves us all!
Bucky Boy (AKA Floppy Face/Ole Floppy) is up in heaven with all of his friends, and they’re all playing together in a field that goes on forever.
For nearly 10 years, Bucky Boy was your Daddy’s best friend. When Daddy first got Bucky, he had just returned from his 5th deployment!
Did you know that Buck Boy lived in nearly 10 different places? That’s because Daddy kept deploying, and Bucky kept couch surfing throughout Texas, Kansas, and Missouri.
Bucky lived a grand life. He made friends and shared his love with everyone—even you, Princess General!
Everywhere Bucky went, he loved. He loved you, me, Momo, Momma, and all of Daddy’s friends. That’s because Bucky was put here by G*d to love us.
Bucky not only loved you, but he cared for Daddy. Daddy needed Bucky more than Bucky needed Daddy. Daddy needed a best friend who would love him no matter what Daddy did during the war. And, so G*d, put Bucky Boy in all of our lives.
For nearly 10 years, Bucky Boy loved us. He loved you. He loved Daddy. He loved every person (except one guy at a dog park in KC) because G*d loves us all and wanted every human to have a companion, even grumpy combat veterans.
Even though Bucky went to heaven, it’s ok to miss him. We will always miss Bucky Boy! But we are also grateful to G*d for putting Bucky in our lives—and we are all more loved and better for having Bucky in our lives.
Daddy is so happy that Bucky Boy was your first dog and Daddy’s partner in crime. We will always miss him! But remember two things: All. Dogs. Go. To Heaven. & Daddy WILL ALWAYS COME TO YOUR RESCUE.
Life was beautiful for loving Bucky and having him around. He lived with me 3 times and these last 6 months I have felt blessed. He was a friend to my dogs- Ms River, Styx, and Tara-- they loved Bucky too. Bucky was special. He was persistent -- in all things-- even when he couldn't get around anymore. The breed plus his unique personality. My house was quite the day after Bucky crossed the rainbow bridge. He even in sickness insisted on things he wanted and would not let go of it--like the German Shepherd next door that regardless of how poorly Bucky could get around he let that dog know he could tear down the fence if needed. I loved seeing how much Bucky loved you. You were his "human" and I was just a "stand in" lol It made me smile. The only good thing besides how much he loved was that now he is up there running freely and with Pops and all of the rest of our dogs before him. Bucky -- you're off the watch now and wait at the gate when it's my turn big boy. Love you forever.
Awww. I'm so sorry for your loss Will. That was such a beautiful tribute!! Pets ARE family. ♥️🐾
