A Miracle Occurred Today

Last night, a miracle occurred.

We helped get an Afghan and his family out of a gender apartheid regime. And it wasn’t just any Afghan. No. It was Sultan’s brother. Sultan, by the way, works on this website and helps design many of our graphics. Everything at Stories From My Brothers, Tales of the Afghan Security Forces, is his handywork. For obvious reasons, I won’t publish any pictures until he’s in the States.

But, hopefully, you will take my word for it.

Thanks to our collective efforts, Sultan’s brother Yar and his beautiful family are on their way to the United States. This is the type of impactful work we do around here. We not only write about it, we make it happen.

That doesn’t mean we do case management. We do not. But the men and women who I knew as allies have earned that right to come here. And more of them are arriving as we speak.

This website will elevate the voices of our Afghan brothers and sisters. You will hear more from them as we progress. We will likely have more good news to share this upcoming week.

We had quite a busy week. Phew. I’m tired.

Over at Shoulder to Shoulder, we spoke with some heroes at Op Rico.

We had a very important conversation with Major Naqib Mirzada and started asking a very important question: What Happened to General Surab Azimi?

We also published our first episode of GCV’s Fire for Effect, in which I talk about General Azimi.

We had some great articles by Colonel Abdul Rahman Rahmani, my BFF, and Aqsa Rahmani.

I wrote a tribute to my good buddy, Trey Mooney. RIP. And I also talked about an American hero, Heidi Millburg.

And as always, we had the daily rant.

I also made my debut on a Bulwark Podcast! Thanks to Mona Charen for giving me a shot! I hope I didn’t ruin your lovely affair!

I also wrote some things for The Bulwark and Long War Journal.

I think that’s quite a bit! Damn, I’m tired after typing all that shit out.
